Trigonometry is a mathematical topic that involves studying the relationship between the lengths and angles of triangle. Using trigonometry, we can work out missing angles and sides of triangles. This is a skill that you will have to master when studying maths at secondary school as it is a major topic of the curriculum.
Sin/Cos/TanUsing sine, cosine and tangent, we can calculate missing lengths of right-angled triangles. This is one of the more basic trigonometry skills. However, it is important that you can deal with such problems as you will meet them quite frequently.Sine RuleSine rule allows us to find missing lengths and angles of certain triangles. To apply sine rule, the triangle must either know two sides and one angle opposite to one of the sides or any two angles and one side. We recommend that you first look at the Sin/Cos/Tan lesson before attempting sine rule.Cosine RuleCosine rule is another rule that allows us to find missing lengths and angles in triangles. It can be applied when we know three sides or two sides and an angle in-between the two sides. Cosine rule is a more complex trigonometry rule.
